Applicants seeking to obtain verification of the Licence Particulars may apply for this service. Follow the detailed application steps as listed on the Right Hand Side of the screen.
   
Important Note to All Applicants:
The Licence Verification Certificate will only be issued in the exact full name as per your driver’s Licence. Ensure when completing the online application the full name on your Online form and on your Driver’s Licence is exactly the same.

If the Name on your Licence is different from your current valid Passport, review the checklist for the procedure you need to complete required by the High Commission of India.

Father’s Name on the Online Application form should be entered exactly as it appears on the Licence.

To ensure your application can be processed, kindly ensure all documents are provided as stated in the checklist. Have all your documents checked as per the checklist and place them in the order as required on the checklist.

If the checklist is not followed, this may result in an incomplete application which cannot be acceptedby the High Commission of India for processing.

IDLV Online Applications will be unavailable from 26 January 2012 till 29 January 2012 due to System Upgrade. Services will resume as usual from 30 January 2012.

India Drivers Licence Application

Step 1
Get your Licence details verified from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in India from where you have originally obtained your licence. Your RTO will verify the information on your licence and provide you with a letter. This is the first step of the application process and must be completed by you. If you are in Australia, you may need to request a friend/family member to take a copy of your licence to the RTO in India to obtain the verification letter. The original letter from the RTO will be required.

Step 2
Read the requirements and gather all the information

Step 3
Complete the application ONLINE download & print the form/s, read and complete checklist

Step 4
Check fees payable and payment options. Fees are calculated automatically on the online application

Step 5
Sign form/s and checklist at all indicated places

Step 6
Ensure photos are as per specifications

Step 7
Check processing times based on your requirements. Processing times are generally 5 working days. Incomplete applications will lead to an increase in processing time and applicants will need to comply with any changes in the procedure that may occur during this time.

Step 8
Attach all supporting documents required as per the checklist. Make sure your application is complete.

Step 9
Submit your application based on jurisdiction by Express Post/Courier in person or through a representative (where you reside determines where you need to submit your application)

Step 10
Track your application online.

Step 11
Your completed application will be returned to you by the mode of delivery selected by you once processed.
